My approach

Why I Don’t Believe in the Hard Sell

Nobody enjoys feeling pressured into making a decision—especially about essential household services.

That is why I do not believe in the hard sell.

When I review someone’s household bills, my first job is not to persuade them to change provider. It is to understand what they already have, what they pay and what matters to their household.

Listen first

Every household is different.

Some people want to reduce their monthly costs. Others need faster broadband, more suitable mobile allowances or simply fewer bills to manage.

Before discussing any options, I listen.

There is little value in recommending something until I understand the person and household it needs to work for.

Explain things clearly

Household bills can be unnecessarily complicated.

Tariffs, unit rates, standing charges, broadband speeds, data allowances and contract dates are not always presented in a way that makes comparison easy.

My role is to explain the relevant information in plain English, show you what Utility Warehouse could offer and help you compare it with your current arrangements.

I will always be clear that this is not a whole-of-market comparison. It is an honest look at whether the services I can offer could provide better overall value for your household.

Leave the decision with you

Sometimes a review identifies an arrangement that could suit the household better.

Sometimes the right decision is to stay exactly where you are.

Both are perfectly reasonable outcomes.

I would rather someone make a confident, informed decision than feel pushed into changing something they were not comfortable with.

There is no awkward sales pitch and no obligation to sign up. You are free to consider the information and decide what works best for you.

Be there afterwards

I don’t disappear once you have signed up.

It is my job to help ensure you remain a happy Utility Warehouse customer, so you never feel the need to switch your services again.

I remain available to help with questions about your services, explain changes and review your arrangements again as your household’s needs evolve.

For me, helping someone make the right decision is more important than simply making a sale.

That is why I listen first, explain clearly and leave the final choice with you.

No pressure. Just a clearer picture.

See whether your current arrangements still work for your household.

Even if you decide that your current arrangements are already right for you, you will have the reassurance of knowing you have checked.
